  A Little About Pro Carpet's History.

 

 
 

ProCarpet was founded in 1993 by Gregory Cole.  Mr. Cole had learned the carpet cleaning business from the ground floor - as a technician working for a number of small and large carpet cleaning firms. It was quite an education!

  • Business Philosophy - What Not To Do!

 

 

 

 

Mr. Cole observed that carpet-cleaning companies would go out of business because of their business practices and the way they treated customers. Their emphasis was to get as much money from each customer and not worry about ethics or customer satisfaction. "Get the money and get out the door" was often the philosophy. Too many companies encourage technicians to use bait-and-switch tactics, charge for chemicals not used, dilute important chemicals like Scotchgard (so they could give it away for "free") and a host of other tricks. Some even leave detergent out of a steam cleaning and just use plain water. Many companies use beginner technicians with little training and background checks were a rarity. Technician turnover was very high!  Customer Complaints we rampant! Repeat customers were rare!

Customers must be treated fairly, honestly and with respect.

This is the right thing to do and it establishes the foundation for an on-going relationship. If a customer isn't satisfied with our recommended service, we will come back out and see if we can make it right - at no extra charge to the customer. We strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. Since 1993, we have serviced over 250,000 customers. A large percentage of these customers were referrals. We hope that after you have used us, you will pass our name on to your friends and family.

 

    After the initial service for a customer:

We send out a letter thanking them for the business and encourage them to contact Mr. Cole if they aren't satisfied. We do this for $45 jobs and for $450.00 jobs. We ask each customer to give us referrals of friends and neighbors. Periodically, we send reminders when their next service is due and give them special discounts and the lowest price we are then offering. We don't try to sell customers services they don't need. We'd rather have customers call us the next time they need our services.

 

 
   

When possible, we structure our prices and services so customers can pick and choose the services they want.

As an example, a Customer may want an Entire House Basic Carpet Steam Cleaning , Deep cleaning in one room and to add Scotchgard™.

We wish all services could be estimated over the phone, but some services cannot be estimated until we arrive at your house. The most common are Pre-treatments or deep scrubbing for heavily soiled areas, Pet Stains/Odors, Carpet Stretching/Repairs and Water Damage services.

However, the Customer must always approve a service and the price before we perform it .... no surprises when it is time to pay the bill!

One exception is when we surprise a senior citizen by letting them know they get a 10% discount.

    We only use experienced technicians....

and we pay them well. Like our customers, our technicians must be treated fairly, honestly and with respect. In an industry with many fly-by-night companies, we have never been late with a payday. We want our technicians to make a good living by providing services which our customers need. We reward quality work with special bonuses. We regularly convince our competitors' best technicians to come work for ProCarpet.

ProCarpet is a real rarity in the carpet cleaning industry - we still have technicians who started with us in 1993.

 

An independent company named "Consumers Choice Awards" takes annual customer satisfaction surveys of many types of businesses in the Atlanta area.
