Machine Woven & Oriental Area Rugs

Area Rug Cleaning - ProCarpet - Atlanta, GAOriental rugs are often true works of art. Many have been acquired through special dealers and are treasures of delicate beauty. Often, they will appreciate in value, particularly in the case of some meticulously handcrafted pieces. ProCarpet fully appreciates the priceless nature your handmade oriental rugs.

Our combined experience adds up to decades of knowledge in oriental rug cleaning, including: Chinese, Persian, Indian, Pakistan, Afghani, antique and handmade oriental rugs.
Our expert cleaners begin with a meticulous inspection of the rug. Then our technician selects the optimal cleaning method for your specific rug.  We can facilitate both in-home surface cleaning as well as in-plant deep cleaning depending on the situational needs of your rug and your home. While many of today's rugs can be cleaned in the home, most high-end or delicate rugs need to be brought into our plant for a controlled setting immersion cleaning.

Here is a Step-by-step look at Our In-Plant Process

  • Pre-Inspection - This routine step is done at your home. After thoroughly inspecting the rug for special conditions, as well as determining its composition and construction, we ask for your work authorization. Only when you agree with our proposed methods and estimate will we start the cleaning process.
  • Soil Removal Dusting- We use a specially design dusting machine to remove the dry soil.
  • Pre-treatment - The next step is to treat the rug with a special solution in order to completely remove any soil. Our specially formulated solution releases the ground-in soil and helps to restore the original vibrant colors of the rug.
  • Microban™ Decontamination Treatment (available as necessary) - For houses with pets or visitors' animals, we use this product to treat contamination and odors from pet feces or urine, as well as any mold and mildew.
  • Rinsing - When the previous treatments have done their jobs, we then thoroughly flush away soils and cleaning agents in a soothing bath. Hundreds of gallons of clean water are gently rinsed through the rug leaving it as clean as the day it was made.
  • Drying - The excess water is extracted using a abrasive free extraction machine. The rug is then placed on a large drying rack.  Slightly warm air is gently circulated over the rug to ensure even drying. This is arranged efficiently in a temperature- and humidity-controlled drying room.
  • Fringe Station - Once the rug is dry, it is off to the fringe station. The fringe is gently combed out and the rug is meticulously inspected. Our rug specialist then signs off that he is satisified with the results. If he is even the least bit unsatisfied: the process starts all over again.
  • Shrink-Wrapped – If marked completely satisfied by the inspector, the rug is then gently folded and then rolled. For all in-plant rug-cleaning, we shrink-wrap each rug before it is returned to our customers. This ensures the safety and integrity of the rugs. If you prefer the rug to be left unwrapped, please let us know when checking in your rug.
